Upcoming weeks (and the fine print)...

Last call for custom orders! I may not be accepting custom orders again until late fall-ish.

Last art show for the season: Saturday, July 20- Appleton Art/ Farmers Market
If you are local, stop by! I will most likely have a big sale table.

THE FINE PRINT:
I am still forging ahead with custom orders/ business as usual. I should be able to get everything done in time, providing baby doesn't come early. However, my last check-up indicated that baby might want out sooner than planned (let's hope not, but that is a possibility). When that time comes, my shop will shut down, likely without too much notice. I'm not sure how long my shop will stay closed, I will be playing that one by ear!

Until then, I am keeping busy...finishing up custom requests and stocking up for fall- yes, FALL! It feels very weird making autumn designs in the heat of summer. Once my shop re-opens I will *hopefully* have an assortment of new and past favorite fall designs (owls, pumpkins, barns, acorns, mushrooms....birds and hoots in autumn colors and fun inspiration sets, including curious crow collections (pictured below!).

Thanks for your patience and understanding, as I take things day by day. Will keep you updated on the baby front :)

June Art Market

Monday, June 17, 2013

The weather was perfect, the crowd was HUGE, the sales were just...ok. It was still worthwhile, especially since it is such an easy, close show. Luke and I have set-up for this show down (we've been doing it for several years). I no longer stress about it and lose sleep the night before. Only one show left for the summer- the July Art Market on the 20th (same place and time).

I've been throwing around the idea of having a sale table. I've never offered a discount or sale section at a show before, but I'd really like to clean house before going on maternity leave (I will be 38 weeks at the time of the next show).

Anyone have any experience with this (sale sections at shows)? Does it go over well? Do you think it "cheapens" the work? Do people only buy "sale" items then? Any words of advice would be much appreciated!

(damn flag...don't you just want to reach into the photo and fix it)
(fact: my display is held together with duct tape)

Local friends- I will have a booth at the downtown appleton farmers/ art market this Saturday. Market runs from 8am-12:30pm. I will be located just past Heid Music. If you've never been to a market, you must (it is a great way to spend a summer morning)!

weekend adventuring...

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Hopped in the car last weekend and headed way north towards lake Superior. We set up camp at Copper Falls state park- amazing- didn't feel like we were in Wisconsin. We spent the day driving on gravel backroads, finding out of the way county parks with waterfalls to hike to. The weather was a bit chilly and the mosquitos (and ticks) were fierce, but it felt really great to pack up and go...without any real agenda. Sadly, this will probably be our last camping adventure until fall (we are hoping to take baby on his/her first camping adventure this fall). Our weekends are booked with work/ art shows/ the cottage until pretty much my due date.
p.s. I am still working on my new "baby/personal" blog...I'm not sure if I will continue with these types of posts on this blog, or move them over to the new blog. Will update as I figure things out!

Alliums, one of my favorite flowers. We had one topple over and I couldn't let it go to waste.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
