Happy 4th and a coupon code...

Friday, June 29, 2012

Heading out the door later today. To celebrate my very favorite holiday, I am having a couple special deals going through July 4. Free world wide shipping with coupon code: CELEBRATE. And, I also have a SUMMER SALE section with pendants marked down $2-$4 each. All convos will be answered and orders shipped out after the 4th.

To me, the 4th of July isn't just about freedom and fireworks, but about our family traditions and the essence of summer- sitting on the dock, swimming, boat rides, fire flies and campfires- all of my very favorite things with the people I love most, crammed into one fleeting weekend. So long everyone- off to soak it all in!

sea turtles

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

I've been holding on to these for awhile- every time I look at them they remind me of our snorkel trip to Hol Chan last March. I have always wanted to see a sea turtle and we saw several on this trip. It was amazing- one of those things that was on my "must see/do in this lifetime" list.

I am hoping that this fall we will get to see these HUGE manta rays. Another must see on my list. I haven't talked about it much yet, but Luke and I are going to Fiji this fall- an epic 2 week island-hopping, back-packing adventure. One of the places we will be staying is right on a channel that is home to manta rays during certain months. We are bursting at the seams excited. At this point pretty much everything is planned/ reserved/ taken care of and we are just waiting (oh and scrimping/ saving/ selling body parts, etc. to fund the trip).

Sea turtles are in my shop. We are taking a long weekend up north at my folk's cottage to celebrate the 4th, have our annual 'caribbean drink night'/ river float and celebrate my mom's 50th birthday-woo! Lots of fun planned. Hopefully I'll have lots of pics to share back here next week :)

shop/ life update...

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Lots of things going on around here! On the shop front, I have some new pieces that I am pretty excited about. Feathers in all of my favorite new and old glazes.
I made the feathers with these long necklaces in mind. A perfect excuse to use some of the beads that I've been hoarding hanging on to for awhile (fossilized bone and this glass).

I think I only have one set rustic beads left in my shop- but I will be making more. I really dig these!
I've been using them to make earrings...

And some other favorites of mine that are currently in my shopola...

Now, for some life updates. I really do more than make beads....some weeks at least ;) Luke and I went strawberry picking!
Luke has been busy putting siding on our garage (to match our house). We had the house sided when we first moved in...but then ran out of money. Luke read a DIY book on putting up siding and so far, he is doing a smashing job! I can't wait for it to be finished- we acquired an old cupola and will be putting that on the roof with a weathervane.

AND best news last.... my baby brother is getting married this weekend!!

That's all folks, thanks for reading. Have a great weekend!

June Art Market 2012

Sunday, June 17, 2012

We had a pretty good day at the art market yesterday- there was a nice crowd and it was *mostly* sunny. It was the first time I ever got rained on at a show- it was bound to happen sooner or later (and that is why I bought that expensive tent- right!?)
I changed up my booth look a little from last year- a new color scheme and a few new pieces of "junk" thrown in too. Here are a few pics from the day!
