I just had to show these off because I think they turned out so cute! I did this lesson with 3-5 graders over 3, one and a half hour class periods. The teeny houses were built from clay and painted with acrylics. The shadow boxes were made of cardboard and were collaged with new and vintage papers. We talked alot about color harmony and how artists choose the colors they use in their art.

What a crazy/ exciting week. One of my good friends got married yesterday! I wore my necklace from Lorelei to the wedding- love it! I also got a new job! woo hoo. Starting next week I will be working at the Appleton Art center in the gallery. This sunday is Art in the Park and I have lots of new fun stuff to bring along and show off. Check it out!
These remind me of vintage ceiling tiles.
I woke up at 4am this morning to fire my last kiln load before art in the park tomorrow. All of these new fall designs will be available (many for the first time) tomorrow! I hope to see some of you there!!
New keyhole pendants- i call them 'rusted'
another new design! I based these key holes off of vintage keyholes that I ordered off etsy. The copper patina glaze on this one is perfect.
new butterfly buttons in muted glazes- perfect for autumn!
Tried out my new favorite glaze on some bird beads- love it!

This week flew by! I've been busy coaching, teaching art classes and making hoards of pendants for my upcoming art shows. Here is a mountain of pendants that I have been busy glazing (and a peek of some new designs). Im trying out Georgie's interactive pigments for the first time- excited to see how they spice up some of my trusty glazes.
Oh and we got the first sneak peek of our new siding that is going up on our house. Looks pretty nice!

Here are some pics from round one of my summer art classes that I teach at our local art center. Landscape mosaics with handmade ceramic tiles and glass (done with middle school students). And charming pinch pot turtles with underglaze sgraffito- I love their different personalities! This project was done with Kindergartners.
